How to blog on this site?
Step 0: Make sure you are logged in already
You must be a registered author to blog on this site. Email us (info AT saveRTHK DOT org) to inquire about how to become an author.
If you see that the two links “Site Admin” and “Logout” appear under “Meta” (Circle 0 in the following picture), then you are already logged in. Proceed to Step 3.
If you have not yet logged in, proceed to Step 1 to log in.
Step 1 & 2: Log in
Click on the link “Login” on the right column (Circle 1 in the following picture). You will then see the Login screen (Circle 2 in the next picture).
Step 3: Go into the Admin area to start writing
Click on the “Site Admin” link (Circle 3 in the following picture) on the right column to go into the Admin area (see the picture in Step 4).
Step 4: Start a new post
When you are in the Admin area, click on the link “Write” (Circle 4 in the following picture) on the upper left of the screen to start a new post.
Step 5: Write your post
Type in your content in the “Title” field (Circle 5a in the following picture) and the “Post” field (Circle 5b). You should also choose an appropriate “Category” (Circle 5c) for your article. If you want to include an image of other files in your post, use the area called “Upload” (Circle 5d).
Step 6: Preview and then, finally, publish
From time to time, you can “Save” you post (Circle 6 of the previous picture) and get a preview of it (see next picture) by scrolling down the page (see next Picture). When you are satisfy with the post, you can then “Publish” it (Circle 6 of the previous picture).
You post will appear on the main page of the blog site. Note, however, that you may have to press the “View Site” link (Circle 6b in the next next picture) to go from the post-editing page to the main page of the site. (see the last picture).
Congratulations, you are done!
